Korean Mobile maker Samsung has stretched forth its Galaxy line of smartphones with the release of revised version of Galaxy Ace Duos with GSM-only SIM functionality. The previous version of Galaxy Ace Duos features GSM + CDMA facility only, the new variant is equipped with two GSM connections on the same phone. Prior to the normal Dual sim phones which does not have the ‘dual sim always ON‘ option, the new variant comes with the feature which divert all your calls for SIM2 to SIM1 if you are busy with SIM1 connection. Many Dual Sim smartphone shows the user as busy when they are using SIM 1 facility and another incoming call is for SIM 2.
Coming back to the specifications, the phone is not quite different when compared to its previous version, Galaxy Ace Duos sports a 3.5-inch TFT display boosting a resolution of 320×480 pixels , the phone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and features Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on the top of it. Galaxy Ace Duos house a 832MHz single-core processor and is coupled with 512 MB of RAM.
When compared with the earlier version, the new one has got more pixels on camera and increased onboard storage. The GSM+GSM variant comes with a 5 MP rear camera with auto-focus and is equipped with 3GB of onboard storage which is expandable upto 32 GB via microSD support. The connectivity features are same as usual which include USB v2.0, 3G HSDPA+7.2 Mbps, Wi-fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v3.0, GPS and A-GPS, along with these it comes with FM Radio and RDS in-built.
The phone measures 112.4mm x 59.9mm x 12.44mm and weighs 122 gms which is slightly less than the earlier version (125 gms.) for the GSM+CDMA variant. The new variant is empowered with a 1,300 mAh battery which is less than the previous version’s 1,650 mAh battery. Galaxy Ace Duos comes pre-installed with some standard apps like ChatON messenger and many more.
Pricing and Availability
There is no word on the price tag of the phone but we expect the price to be somewhere around 13K, as the GSM+CDMA version is already on sale at 13,490 INR on various online stores. The phone will be first available from June in Russia and then it would be stretched to the European market and then to Latin America, Southeast and Southwest Asia, Middle East, Africa, and China.
