How to activate Do not Disturb service on your mobile ?

When it comes to mobile phones, privacy is the prime concern for mobile users. According to TRAI ( Telecom Regulatory authority of India) mobile subscribers in India can register for DND (Do Not Disturb) service, which will restrict all incoming telemarketing calls and messages to your phone. You can either opt for full deactivation to such calls or you can customize it with various options available. Do Not Disturb How to activate Do not Disturb service on your mobile ?

To completely block all commercial calls and text messages type START 0 in your message box and send it to 1909. You will then receive a message for the acceptance of your request. Similarly, you can select your preference accordingly.

Message FormatSTART <option> to 1909

Options Available :-

  • Option ’1′ – To STOP receiving all promotional calls and texts except  Banking,Insurance,Financial Products,Credit Cards.
  • Option ’2′ – To STOP receiving all promotional calls and text except message related to Real Estate.
  • Option ’3′ -  To STOP receiving all promotional calls and text except message related to Education.
  • Option ’4′ -  To STOP receiving all promotional calls and text except message related to Health.
  • Option ’5′ -  To STOP receiving all promotional calls and text except message related to Consumer Goods/Cars/Automobiles.
  • Option ’6′ –   To STOP receiving all promotional calls and text except message related to Communication, Broadcasting and Entertainment.
  • Option ’7′ –   To STOP receiving all promotional calls and text except message related to Tourism and Leisure.
Like to block all calls except Real Estate I will send START 2 to 1909.

The time to process your request may depend on upon your service provider but it usually takes 7 days to activate the service. To deativate the same at any time you can send STOP to 1909 for complete deativation and STOP <option> to 1909 for deactivating a single option. By registering to DND service your number will be listed in the National Customer Preference Register (NCPR), thus stopping all unwanted promotional calls on your mobile. There are no charges levied for sending the request.
