Luxury Automobile Giant Mercedes has unveiled their new sports tourer car in India. 2012 Mercedes Benz B-class is first of its kind which encompasses features of a Sedan and SUV in a single vehicle. The luxury sport vehicle was exihibited at the Buddh International Circuit, Delhi (NCR) by Mr. Peter Honegg, who is the Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes India. The ceremony was also adverted by Genelia D’Souza (Bollywood actress) and Mr. Gaurav Kapoor (VJ) and commenced the first official drive of the first Sport Tourer.

Nothing challenges the B-class on roads whether it is performance, styling, comfort, speed or its compact design, Mercedes B-class seems to master them all. Only two variants of the B-class will be launched in India for now i.e., mini MPV – B180 and B180 CDi. There are both diesel and petrol variant available, the 1.8 litres four-cylinder diesel engine is further classified on CDI, the B 180 CDI generates a power of 109 hp and produces a torque of 250 N-m, on the other hand the B 200 CDI engine generates a power of 100 hp and produces a torque of 300 N-m. Mercedes has said that they will first launch the Petrol variant followed by the Diesel variant , the expected price tag for the B-class is somewhere around Rs. 25 lacs.

Both Manual and automatic transmission are provided for instant pick-up delivered with abundant performance. A new 7G-DCT dual clutch transmission has been included in the vehicle which adjusts the transmission according to the variable speed of the tourer. Alongwith these seven gears, an easy shift transmission, least resistance and extremely light 6- gear manual transmission is also available.

Exterior & Interiors

The streamlined and aerodynamic front design results in a perfect shape and size for the vehicle and gives it a very superior look on the whole. The manufacturing quiet evidently shows that the airflow is designed perfectly to maximize the cooling for the car. A two sided lines starts from the rear end and extends to the bonnet results into A-shape design which is fascinating enough.
